Cool, trendy, fun

With summer heat bearing down, even at sunset, you welcome cool drinks and food. We served a couple of guests some Fresh Blackberry Margaritas out on the deck. For snacking sans plates, I choose to serve goose liver pate, two local goat cheeses and whole grain crackers. To keep the pate and cheese cold in the muggy weather, I chilled the Charcoal Slate in the freezer for 15 minutes. Then I arranged the cheeses and pate on the slate and wrote the name of each on the slate with chalk. I embellished around each item with some chalk curlecues and such just for whimsy. The cold slate kept the food cool and was quite a conversation item.
